The event will involve around 300 artists from 15 ethnic minorities, including Mong, Kho Mu, Thai, Tay, Muong, Dao, Ta Oi, Co Tu, E-de, among others.
A series of one-month activities are slated to be held at the National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism on the outskirts of Hanoi from August 30 to September 30 to celebrate the 74th anniversary of Independence Day or National Day of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 – September 2, 2019).
The event will involve around 300 artists from 15 ethnic minorities, including Mong, Kho Mu, Thai, Tay, Muong, Dao, Ta Oi, Co Tu, E-de, among others. Besides, artisans, actors, and actresses from Vietnam Circus Federation, Vietnam Tuong (traditional opera) Theater and The College of Culture and Arts of Northwest will also be joining the activities.
The highlight of the event will be the recreation of a highland market displaying the multi-colored cultural space in the mountainous Meo Vac district, Ha Giang province. The space will combine cultural activities including folk dances, traditional games, typical dishes preparation of Mong, Dao, Thai, Lo Lo, Giay, Tay ethnic minorities groups, among others, together with some programs to introduce ethnic distinctive products.
All activities at the village promise to create a bustling, cheerful and happy atmosphere among ethnic minorities people and visitors in the National Day.
Additionally, there will be also some attractive performances such as northwest folk music interpretations, the introduction of the 490th National Flag which used to be hoisted at the Lung Cu Border post, puppetry shows and the reenactment of Sen Dolta worship at the Khmer’s temple, among others.
The series of activities aims to introduce the unique culture as well as customs of Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups, contributing to promoting, preserving and developing Vietnam’s cultural diversity and values and enhancing cultural exchange among ethnic groups nationwide.
