China, Vietnam fortify friendship

On January 15, President Truong Tan Sang received a delegation from the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) led by Chairwoman Li Xiaolin in Hanoi.

At the reception, President Sang spoke highly of Chinese delegates’ visit which took place at a time when both nations are celebrating 65 years of diplomatic ties.

“It is essential to enhance solidarity, friendship, mutual understanding, and cross-cultural exchange aiming to develop the bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in a stable and effective manner.” Sang said.

The State leader also affirmed Vietnam’s recognition of high importance to the neighbourliness, friendship and comprehensive cooperation with their Chinese counterparts.

Sang said he hopes both sides will continue to maintain high-level delegation exchange, carry out commitments in defined fields, resolve disputes, and develop mutually beneficial cooperation.

For her part, Li recalled the China visits by late former President Ho Chi Minh in 1955 and by President Truong Tan Sang in 2014, and applauded a number of friendship activities in observance of the 65th anniversary of the Vietnam-China diplomatic ties.

She pledged to enhance the role of the CPAFFC and the China-Vietnam Friendship Association in organizing people-to-people exchange activities to fortify solidarity and friendship between the two countries for mutual development.

Meeting Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) Vu Xuan Hong the same day, the two sides expressed hope that their organizations will effectively implement joint activities to foster amity between the two peoples.
