Chinese personalities honored for support to Vietnam

Vietnamese President Ho Chi Minh and Chinese Chairman Mao Zedong cultivated the relations between the two neighboring countries.

General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and State President To Lam, on August 18, engaged in a meaningful meeting with influential Chinese figures who played a pivotal role in strengthening the bonds between the two neighboring countries.

At the meeting in Guangzhou, Guangdong, the Vietnamese leader expressed his gratitude to representatives of friendship organizations, relatives of experts who supported Vietnam in wartime, people who contributed to preserving Vietnam-related relics, scholars specializing in Vietnam, former Chinese ambassadors to Vietnam, and Chinese youth.

Speaking at the meeting, General Secretary and President To Lam expressed his delight to meet friends, comrades, and representatives from all walks of life in China, who have been and will continue to support Vietnam and China’s long-standing friendship and all-encompassing strategic cooperative partnership.

Vietnam and China will forever cherish the enduring friendship first forged by President Ho Chi Minh and President Mao Zedong. This invaluable bond has been carefully nurtured by the leaders and citizens of both nations and is destined to be upheld by future generations

Lam said it’s very meaningful that the first stop of his three-day visit to China was Guangdong – where Vietnamese President Ho Chi Minh set foot 100 years ago on the leader’s path to saving the nation. At that time, the president prepared knowledge and personnel for the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam with excellent leaders like Le Hong Phong, Ho Tung Mau, and Nguyen Son.

President Ho Chi Minh also led revolutionary activities in Vietnam from Guangzhou, where he also actively participated in the Communist International and the Chinese revolutionary movement. Vietnam-China friendship is firmly based on the history of the revolutionaries of both countries who fought side by side. This is a typical example of the revolutionary movement of the global proletariat.

General Secretary and President To Lam expressed his appreciation to the Chinese Government, the Party, and the province of Guangdong for their diligent efforts to safeguard the Vietnam Revolutionary Youth Association relic site and Martyr Pham Hong Thai’s tomb. These sites serve as emblems of the longstanding friendship and solidarity between the two countries and peoples of China and Vietnam.
