In 2019, CNN would focus on exploring Hanoi’s culture, heritage and people, reflecting Vietnam’s beautiful landscape and diversified cultural aspects.
US cable news network (CNN) continues to bring Hanoi’s beauty to international audiences as part of the Hanoi’s tourism promotional campaign in the 2019 – 2023 period, local media reported.
In 2019, CNN would focus on exploring Hanoi’s culture, heritage and people, reflecting Vietnam’s beautiful landscape and diversified cultural aspects, said the network’s representative at a conference held by the Hanoi Tourism Department on January 18.
Hanoi in 2020 would be the new tourist destination for Vietnam, especially with the Formula One racing. In 2021, Hanoi will be the host of the Southeast Asian Games, known as the SEA Games, a biennial multi-sport event involving participants from the current 11 countries of Southeast Asia.
In 2022, Hanoi would be seen as a modern city, a destination of Vietnam and the world and in 2023 the world’s future gateway.
In 2018, CNN broadcast three 30-second promotion clips on Hanoi titled “Hanoi – Heart of Vietnam”, “Hanoi – Cradle of Heritage”, and “Hanoi – History, culture and people.” The video clips have received positive feedback from audiences, tourists, international and local media, receiving the best marketing campaign award of the Tourism Promotion Organization for Asian – Pacific Cities (TPO) Forum.
The capital city has also been named among the best vacation ideas for every type of traveler by the Time magazine, a US weekly news magazine and in top 10 Asia – Pacific ranking of overnight business trip destinations by MasterCard.
In 2019, Hanoi set target of receiving 29 million tourists, up 10% year-on-year, including 7 million foreign tourists, up 17% and tourism revenue of VND103.8 trillion (US$4.46 billion), up 34%.
