Concert with the German string ensemble Resonanz and the Vietnamese DJ Le Nam Khanh aka NK’, where chamber music meets electronic sounds.
Chamber music meets electronic sounds: Ensemble Resonanz is touring through Asia with the concert series “urban string”.
Ensemble Resonanz is a German string ensemble which innovatively connects tradition and the present, it interprets old masterpieces in dialogue with contemporary compositions. The ensemble is based in Hamburg’s entertainment district St. Pauli where it established the concert series “urban string” which combines classics and clubs. From January on, the internationally celebrated ensemble will tour through South East Asia with this well-received concert series. Local DJs are completing the program – hence, each concert turns into a unique experience. In Hanoi, the ensemble will be supported by the Vietnamese DJ Le Nam Khanh aka NK‘. The tour is starting off with the „Urban String DJ Conference“ in the beginning of January in Bangkok where all participating DJs will acquaint themselves with the program. Hanoi is the last station of their Asia tour, at the same time, the concert will introduce the new year at Goethe-Institut right after Tet.
The concert takes place within the framework of the concert series Listen differently with which we aspire to present surprising and unusual sound experiences to our listeners.
Ensemble Resonanz, since 2002 in Hamburg, formed a concert hall called „resonanzraum“ in a former bunker. The strong orchestra is organized democratically and is working without a fixed conductor; they frequently collaborate with other artists. The ensemble is well-received for their diversity and innovative projects not only in Hamburg, but also on an international basis. From January 2017 on, the ensemble will be the resident ensemble in the newly constructed Elbphilharmonie where they will perform surprising sound experiences.
DJ Le Nam Khanh aka NK’ is a young musician from Hanoi who started to publish his tracks on SoundCloud only one year ago. Within a short amount of time, his music reached more than 100,000 listeners. As his production ranges from bangers to downtempo tracks, combining different genres into one, he proves his creativity and his will to break any musical barriers. Khanh is a member of Beastmode, a group of young artists and producers based in Hanoi. In October 2016, Khanh with a producer under the alias Tenkitsune founded a music collective named “Hood from Within”, specialized in future bass, a sub-genre of bass music characterized by a hard bassline.
Concert “Listen Differently: Urban String” will be held on 13 Feb 2017, 8 pm at Rec Room, 20th floor, Hanoi Creative City, 1 Luong Yen, Hanoi.
