It is one of many annual events in the city's trade promotion program, which is held throughout the year to stimulate consumer spending and provide businesses with the opportunity to promote Vietnamese brands.

The event will enable consumers to buy good products at affordable prices, especially at the end of the year when the national holiday - Tet (Lunar New Year), approaches.

The opening ceremony of the Hanoi Promotion Month 2022 will occur at 8pm on November 4 at 458 Minh Khai street, Hai Ba Trung District.

The Hanoi Mega Sale fair will be held during the event, with 100 booths introducing and selling consumer goods, clothing, cosmetics, and products under the One Commune One Product (OCOP) program. Local consumers can experience shopping on-site and online with discounts of up to 50%.

As part of the Promotion Month, the traditional "Hanoi Tourism Promotion Festival" will be held on the Hoan Kiem Lake walking space from November 18 to 20. About 50 booths of tour operators, craft villages, and cultural and tourist destinations will offer 20-50% discounts and many gifts to attract consumers and visitors to Hanoi.

The “Golden Promotion Day” will take place on November 12 and 13 at 50 supermarkets and commercial centers with promotions from 20% to 50% in direct discounts, gifts, lucky draws, and incentives for non-cash payments.

Another “Flash Sale Day” event will occur on November 27 at MediaMart My Dinh supermarket.

Nguyen Quy Tan, Director of MediaMart My Dinh supermarket, said they have been working with suppliers since the beginning of the fourth quarter to prepare promotions with discounts from 15% to 70% for more than 30,000 products, including televisions, refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, household appliances, and technology products.

According to Nguyen Quang Duc, Marketing Director of PICO electronics supermarket chain, the provider is also ready for the Hanoi Promotion Month 2022 as it has negotiated with manufacturers to offer 20% to 50% price reduction during the "Flash Sale Day" and "Golden Promotion Day."

Tan and Duc are two of thousands of participating businesses that believe it is an opportunity to improve the connection between companies and customers, motivating companies to promote Vietnamese brands and stimulating purchases.

The event interests Le Anh, a resident of Dong Da District's Trung Liet Street, who says it is a golden opportunity to buy various reasonably priced products. "I am very eager to see the launch of the program every year," she told The Hanoi Times

Besides, it will also help to meet Hanoi's revenue target of the total circulation of goods and services in the last months of the year, according to Tran Thi Phuong Lan, Acting Director of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade.

The 2021 Hanoi Promotion Month drew the participation of over 1,000 enterprises, with discounts totaling up to VND20 trillion (US$875 million), according to the municipal Department of Industry and Trade.

Of the discounted items, the food sector made up 40%, consumer goods 30%, and other industries (including fashion, apparel, real estate, and finance) accounted for 30%.
