DaNang International Fireworks Festival to become a “must-see” event this summer
The International Fireworks Festival 2017, which will last nearly two months from April 29 to June 24, is expected to become a cultural highlight of the central city of Da Nang this summer.
The predecessor of the event was the Da Nang international fireworks show in Da Nang International, and now it has become an international festival.
This huge event is expected to turn Da Nang into a tourist, culture, entertainment and festivals destination that is favored by visitors at home and abroad.
This year's festival will be held in up to two months, with various activities beside the fireworks competition, such as a culinary competition and a street festival.
The adjustment came as an attempt by the city’s authorities to attract tourists to Da Nang and encourage them to stay longer in the city.

According to Mr. Le Quy Duong, general director of the festival, the event will be the first of its kind in Vietnam and the longest summer festival in the country, as well as the biggest firework festival in Southeast Asian region.
Seven international teams from Australia, Italy, the UK, Austria, China, Japan and Switzerland plus the host team Da Nang - Viet Nam, will compete at the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2017.
Themed "Toa Sang Ngu Hanh Son"(Shining Marble Mountains), the festival will take place by the iconic Han River from 29 April and 24 June 2017.
The firework displays will be released on five Saturdays - 29 April, 20 May, 27 May, 3 June and 24 June. Inspired by the Marble Mountains with their elements of ancient oriental philosophy, the 5 performances nights will be entitled "Fire", "Earth", "Metal", "Water" and "Wood" respectively.
The top three teams will be selected to compete at the final night on June 24.

The competition will be held on a broader scale with the support of a floating stage and more stage effects than in previous events.
Visitors to the event can not only enjoy brilliant firework displays but can also take part in a wide range of activities held throughout the festival, including barefoot runs on sand, a cultural programme honouring the Cham people’s culture, a cuisine festival, a beer festival and assorted street carnivals.
Sun Group is hoping to develop DIFF into an international-level cultural event which will attract many visitors from both home and abroad. The festival, which will be held annually, aims to enhance the spiritual lives of local residents and promote the city’s time-honoured traditional values.
DIFF 2017 will feature a wide range of interesting support activities. There will be an electronic dance music (EDM) programme entitled ‘You are Shining’, the Master Chef Da Nang cooking contest, a street parade of live music and dancing, a ‘Beer and Ladies’ festival, a festival of Cham culture, a sculpture festival, an international costume show, a photo contest, and a festival for children.
In 2017, Da Nang’s tourism industry wishes to serve 6.1 million tourists, including approximately 1.9 million international visitors.
The city's tourism targets to attract about 2 millions of visitors during the fireworks festival this year.
The DIFF 2017 is a very important threshold for Da Nang’s tourism.
