The smart city scheme will focus on six core pillars and sixteen priority fields including an operation supervision center, smart public services and Open Data. Environment, education, healthcare and food safety will be the city’s priorities in its smart city plan.

The city plans to invest more in developing applications in education, healthcare, food safety, public security, disaster prevention. In particular, smart citizen and smart transportation are also taken as the key points.
Recently, Danang has made preparations for this scheme to be implemented. In April 2018, the city’s People Committee partnered with a giant tech group of Vietnam to implement the smart project.
Danang, usually dubbed as the livable city in Vietnam, has led the Vietnam ICT Index since 2009.
Danang, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City are among 26 cities in Southeast Asia to join the ASEAN smart cities network, according to an initiative announced by Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong in April 2018.
