Deputy PM Phuc meets with Quang Nam voters

Deputy PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc and National Assembly (NA) deputies of the central province of Quang Nam met with voters in the province’s Nong Son District on December 3.

The voters expressed their trust in the Party and the Government in the issuance of many important policies of the country, especially the National Assembly's approval of amendments to the 1992 Constitution and the amended Land Law as well as others.

Voter Vo Than from Que Phuoc Commune asked the deputies to pay due attention to daily matters facing local residents such as road construction and social policy implementation.

Voter Pham Van Son from Que Trung Commune raised up the construction of the 10-km provincial road No.610 running through his commune. He claimed that residents in Trung An Hamlet has been coping with isolation for nearly 40 years due to the lack of the road.

Other voters raised questions about illegal logging, muddy water sources, and landslides.

In response, Chairman of the Quang Nam Provincial. People Committee and head of the NA deputy delegation, Le Phuoc Thanh, noted down all the voters’ concerns.

He said that the muddy water resources may have been caused by the illegal exploitation of mineral resources and the construction of hydro-power plants.

He also asked local authorities in Que Trung Commune to quickly solve the problems caused by the lack of road. He instructed the department of agriculture and rural development, the department of forest management aand and the local people’s committee to work together on the forest illegal logging.

Addressing at the meeting, Deputy PM Phuc asked the provincial and district authorities to pay more attention to poor communes and hamlets, especially in concerned issues.

“Local authorities should focus on building up new rural area, giving attention to residents’ specific concerns such as what plant to grow and what animal to raise or what kind of pesticide should be used or how to help farmers sell their products,” he said.

Phuc asked the local authorities to figure out reasons behind poverty facing local households, given the poverty rate in the district was highest in the province, at 58.88 percent.
