Discussing to strengthen the VN-UK cooperation in climate change response

Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai met with the United Kingdom (UK) Ambassador to Vietnam Giles Lever in Hanoi on July 21 to discuss the Vietnam - UK cooperation in climate change response.

At the meeting, the Deputy PM and the Ambassador reviewed the UK’s assistance to Vietnam in projects on enhancing national capability of coping with climate change, mitigating and controlling the impacts of greenhouse emission.

The host praised outcomes of bilateral cooperation in climate change response and the diplomat’s role in enhancing the ties.
Deputy PM Hai hoped that both countries will continue facilitating coordination in building a global framework on climate services, a legal framework on climate change and weather forecast technologies. 
Ambassador Lever proposed several initiatives regarding cooperation on climate change, including making joint preparations for the 21st Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change slated for this November in Paris.
