Economic Corridor contributes to develop Vietnam-China sustainable cooperation relations

The 7th conference on economic corridor cooperation of Vietnam`s cities and provinces of Lao Cai, Hanoi, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh and China`s Yunnan was held successfully from December 21-24 in China`s Kunming city.

The meeting is one of the initiatives aimed at creating a basis for friendship cooperation exchanges, especially in economy among localities in particular and between  Vietnam and China in general.

Since the first conference held in Hanoi on September 2004, the cooperation between the five localities has achieved significant progress in many aspects, actively promoted the cooperation and connection between provinces, investment trade development, construction of joint trade center, and created favourable conditions for the transportation development, thus contributing to sustainable relations development between Vietnam and China.
The cooperation between the these localities have gained remarkable achievements in various fields in the past five years, especially in infrastructure and transport links with the completion of important roads such as highways of Hanoi - Lao Cai  and Ha Noi - Hai Phong, the Kunming - Hekou (Yunnan) railway and highway.
This made an important prerequisite for the five provinces and cities to exchange, discuss and work out new directions for practical cooperation in the coming time.
At the conference, the delegates focused on discussing on 5 contents: Cooperation on transport and rail connections; Cooperation on commercial investment; Cooperation in tourism, education and health; Cooperation on credit and currency and Insurance cooperation.

Hanoi's delegation participated fully and actively in all the conference's contents, as well as had many suggestions for cooperation within the framework of economic corridor.
Delegates of Hanoi city discussed on a number of areas such as the exchange of visits and people exchange; the strengthening of investment promotion, trade and collaboration in market management, control and prevention of diseases; tourism development cooperation; cooperation on environmental protection and water security; and enhancing information exchange mechanism between the relevant localities.
Concluding the conference, the five provinces committed to build specific plans to implement the content of agreed cooperations, ensuring that the operative activities in the economic corridor will be deployed fully and effectively in the coming time.
The 8th conference on economic corridor cooperation of Vietnam's cities and provinces of Lao Cai, Hanoi, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh and China's Yunnan is scheduled to take place in the northern city of Hai Phong in 2017.
