Enhancing navies relation between Vietnam and Cambodia

On March 27, Rear Admiral Pham Hoai Nam, the Commander of the Vietnam People`s Navy had a meeting with Royal Cambodian Navy Commander Tea Vinh in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

During the meeting, Vietnam and Cambodia have agreed to boost ties between the two countries’ navy forces, including continuing joint sea patrol in order to maintain peace and stability on the two sides’ waters and the region at large.

At the event, Nam stressed the Vietnamese navy has attached importance to developing cooperation with the foreign navy. The Vietnamese navy will be ready to support Cambodia in the fields of manpower training and technical assistance. They praised the significant outcome of the joint sea patrol activities, contributing to ensuring security in the two countries’ waters while maintaining peace and stability in the region.

Commander Tea Vinh thanked the Vietnamese navy for its support and hoped to continue receiving assistance in training and technical gear support for the Cambodian naval forces. The Vietnamese naval officers are on a three-day working visit to Cambodia, starting on March 27.

The guest, in turn, affirmed that the Cambodian Interior Ministry will continue collaborating more closely and comprehensively with the Vietnamese ministry in order to develop the Cambodia-Vietnam ties both intensively and extensively. 

On the same day, the Cambodian Interior Ministry delegation held talks with officials from the Ministry of Public Security headed by permanent Deputy Minister Dang Van Hieu. The two sides signed a cooperation plan for 2016 between the two ministries.
