On June 23, Lao Ambassador to Vietnam Thongsavanh Phomvihane had a meeting with Vo Van Thuong, a Politburo member, Party Secretary, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education.

The Ambassador said that he will do all he can to preserve, protect and foster the Laos-Vietnam traditional friendship, special unity and comprehensive cooperation relationship for the interests of the people of each country.
For his part, Mr. Vo Van Thuong congratulated Thongsavanh Phomvihane on being appointed as ambassador and believed the ambassador would successfully complete all assigned missions.
Thuong hoped the ambassador would continue being an important bridge helping ministries, sectors and localities to boost exchanges of theoretical and real issues, share information and experience in information and education tasks, cooperate and help each other to successfully implement the Congress Resolution of each party, thus deepening the Vietnam-Laos special relationship.
The two countries will intensify collaboration between border defence forces in the fight against trans-national crimes to ensure security and safety in their border areas, as well as fight plots dividing the Vietnam-Laos traditional friendship.
In bilateral cooperation, both sides pledged to enhance discussions and consultations to reach a common voice on regional and global security issues, contributing to maintaining ASEAN’s internal solidarity and central role, for the sake of peace, stability and security in the region and the world.
