Events of activities to celebrate President Ho Chi Minh's 127th birthday

An exchange programme for outstanding examples in studying and following President Ho Chi Minh and an exhibition on outstanding individuals and organisations that have excelled in the “Studying and following President Ho Chi Minh… are two events part of activities to celebrate President Ho Chi Minh`s 127th birthday.

The Party Central Committee’s Commission for Education and Communications co-ordinated with Vietnam Television to hold an exchange programme for outstanding examples in studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example.
The honoured individuals represent 24 organisations and 48 individuals, which have gained outstanding achievements in reviewing one year of implementation of the Politburo's Directive No.5 on learning and following Ho Chi Minh's thoughts, morals and style. They paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh, and shared their views about the basics and values of Ho Chi Minh’s thought and his moral example.
At the event, Politburo member Vo Van Thuong - who is also head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Education and Communications offered flowers to the individuals and highly praised their contributions to the ‘Learning and following Ho Chi Minh's thoughts, morals and style’ campaign.
Ho Chi Minh’s thought is a system of comprehensive and profound ideas on the fundamental issues of the Vietnamese revolution. Ho Chi Minh’s morals include absolute loyalty to the revolutionary ideals, putting the interests of the Party, country and people above all. It also includes diligence, thrift, integrity, honesty and impartiality. Ho Chi Minh’s style is independent thinking, self-reliance, democratic and scientific working style, elegance and cultured behaviour, simplicity and closeness with the masses.

Before that, on May 11, an exhibition on outstanding individuals and organisations that have excelled in the “Studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example” campaign was opened in Hanoi.
Organised by the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Education and Communications and the Ho Chi Minh Museum, the event is part of activities to celebrate President Ho Chi Minh's 127th birthday (May 19, 1890 – 2017) and review one year of implementation of the Politburo's Directive No.5 on learning and following Ho Chi Minh's thoughts, morals and style.
The exhibition showcased nearly 300 images, documents and artifacts on Studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s moral example. The organizing board also recognized the achievements of 61 organisation and 66 individuals participating in the “Learning and following Ho Chi Minh's thoughts, morals and style” campaign.
They were selected from nearly 400 individuals and organisations in socio-economic development, defence, security and Party building work. The display will run until July, 2017.
