Deputy General Director of the Electricity of Vietnam Dinh Quang Tri said on January 17 that in 2016 the group pledges to direct relevant units to overcome difficulties in order to maintain a stable power price.
According to Deputy General Director of the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) Dinh Quang Tri, the group will remain a stable electricity price despite difficulties forecast for this year.
The Deputy General Director of EVN said the group will face some obstacles in power production this year, as El Nino has led to hydropower reservoirs being in the shortage of water. Currently, there’s a shortage of about 6.5 billion cubic metres of water compared to the normal level.
The EVN will need to let out about 5.16 billion cubic metres from the Hoa Binh, Tuyen Quang, and Thac Ba hydropower reservoirs, he added.
However, the EVN has pledged to direct related units to address difficulties in order to remain the power price, he said.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade has recently revealed a draft decision about the mechanism for retail power price management and adjustment, which is now put up for comment, Tri said.
