The Vietnamese government requested related ministries to consider freezing the banking transactions between Vietnamese users and cross-border service providers like Facebook and Google.

The MIC stated that Facebook did not agree to remove some articles and content at the request of Vietnam on the ground that those contents did not infringe its community standards. Therefore, the ministry asked Facebook to identify users and only the identified accounts will be allowed to live stream.

The MIC also asked Facebook to accelerate the authentication of fan page of some organizations and individuals, as well as only to allow creating official fan pages of governmental agencies and organizations with the MIC’s consent or the certification of those agencies and organizations.
In order to handle fake news and curbing the falsification of fan page, the Vietnamese government requested related ministries to consider freezing the banking transactions between Vietnamese users and cross-border service providers like Facebook and Google.
In June, a representative of the Department of Broadcasting and Electronic Information under the MIC said in the past two years, Google has removed nearly 8,000 bad clips under request of the Department, but 55,000 malicious videos on YouTube remain intact.
Besides, Google removed 58 out of 63 games, Apple removed 9 out of 15 games that violate Vietnamese law on Google Play and AppStore. Facebook deleted 208 out of 211 fake accounts, more than 2,400 links advertising illegal products and services, more than 200 links with content deemed toxic to the Vietnamese government, and 215 fan pages advertising gambling.
Currently, the MIC has put the Safety Monitoring Center for National Cyber Space into operation. Every day, the center can supervise about 100 million Vietnamese online posts.
