Fireworks brighten Hanoi's skies to mark Reunification Day

The skies above Hanoi were set aglow on the evening of April 27, as a dazzling fireworks display joined nationwide celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - 2025).

THE HANOI TIMES ─ As part of the special live broadcast program Vang mai khuc khai hoan (The Echoes of Victory), a fireworks display portrayed the pride, unity, and resilience of the Vietnamese people on this historic occasion.

The national event consists of three sites: Thong Nhat Park in Hanoi, Hien Luong - Ben Hai Special National Relic Site in Quang Tri, and Saigon Riverside Park in Ho Chi Minh City's Thu Duc City.

At 10:00 PM, synchronized high and low altitude fireworks erupt from Thong Nhat (Unity) Park, a symbolic location chosen for its spacious grounds, unobstructed views and ease of access.

The display includes 600 high-altitude and 90 low-altitude fireworks, captivating thousands of residents and visitors.

Families fill the park, many proudly waving the national flag.

Children's eyes sparkle as the night sky burst into colors, while the older generations look on with awe, remembering the sacrifices that brought about the nation's reunification half a century ago.

The fireworks are not only a visual feast, but also an expression of national pride, gratitude, and unity.

The program, which combines art, history, and modern pageantry, leaves deep impressions on people.

It serves as a powerful reminder of Vietnam's journey toward peace and unity, and a proud affirmation of the enduring spirit of its people.

The event has made unforgettable experience among locals and visitors to Hanoi during these days.
