The visit of Royal New Zealand Navy crew aims to promote exchanges and cooperation through the joint maritime activities between Vietnam and New Zealand.
The visit to Vietnam is part of F77's long-scheduled Asia tour, confirming the good and strong bilateral defense relationship between Vietnam and New Zealand, following by the official visit to Vietnam of the Major General Peter Kelly, Chief of Army of New Zealand Defense Force last week.
The F77 is the New Zealand Royal Navy most powerful missile defense ship. The ship has a displacement of more than 3,600 tons, with a helicopter landing deck at the rear, equipped with modern air-to-air and ship-to-ship missile systems.
Mrs. Wendy Matthews, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of New Zealand in Vietnam said that the official visit of New Zealand Royal Navy to Da Nang has been a symbol of increasingly strong defense relationship and commitment sharing on security cooperation, as well as the deepening bilateral relationship between New Zealand and Vietnam.
"I am very pleased to hear that the visit of the New Zealand Royal Navy will continue to strengthen our relationship with Da Nang City. At the end of this year, the city will become the world attention with the APEC Economic Leaders' Week".
The F77 will have an official visit to Vietnam in four days from April 12 to 16, in addition to a number of exchanges and conference, there are some cultural and sports exchange activities with the Military Region 5 Command and Naval High Command Zone 3 as well as the visit and support activities to the children at some charity houses.
