Five famous APEC 2017 leaders made excursions in Hanoi
During the APEC 2017, Hanoi`s famous destinations have been honored to welcome many famous leaders from the APEC economies.
1. US President Donald Trump visited the Presidential Palace
On November 12, after holding a press conference with President Tran Dai Quang outside the Presidential Palace, the US President Donald Trump visited the Presidential Palace. In particular, the President visited the semicircular frame in the backyard of the Presidential Palace, where President Ho Chi Minh used to work and met his compatriots and international visitors.
Here, the US President Donald Trump attentively heard about the story of President Ho Chi Minh's life and took photos with President Tran Dai Quang.
2. General Secretary, China's President Xi Jinping went for a walk and fed fish in the monument of President Ho Chi Minh
On November 13, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China, Xi Jinping, took a walk and fed fish in the monument of President Ho Chi Minh and met with General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong before meeting with the President.
Before that, General Secretary, President Xi Jinping went to lay wreaths and visited President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum.
Secretary General, President of China Xi Jinping visited Vietnam from November 12-13 , at the invitation of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and President Tran Dai Quang. This is a significant visit to Vietnam-China relations and the first foreign visit of General Secretary Xi Jinping since the XIX Congress of China's Communist Party.
3. Prime Minister of Canada visited Uncle Ho's stilt house
During his official visit to Vietnam on November 8, in Hanoi, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau visited Uncle Ho's stilt house and served fish on the grounds of the monument of President Ho Chi Minh.
The relics is the place where President Ho Chi Minh lived in the period of 1958 - 1969. The Presidential Palace has welcomed tens of millions of local and abroad visitors, including many senior delegates, leaders of many countries and international organizations.
4. Chilean President Michael Bachelet visited President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum
On the occasion of State visit to Vietnam, on November 9, Chilean President Michael Bachelet came to lay wreaths, commemorating the heroic martyrs at the Monument of Martyrs Heroes on Bac Son Road; to wreath and visit the Mausoleum of President Ho Chi Minh. Prior to that, Chilean President also visited the Presidential Palace.
Uncle Ho's Mausoleum is the place where Uncle Ho's remains are located. Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum was officially started on September 2, 1973, at the site of the old stand between Ba Dinh Square where Uncle Ho had read the Independence Declaration giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam on September 2, 1945.
5. US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson visited Hoa Lo Prison, Tran Quoc Pagoda and some famous monuments.
During the visit of President Donald Trump to Vietnam, US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson visited Tran Quoc Pagoda and some famous monuments in Hanoi.
The US State Department's Twitter photo shows that Tillerson and some of his associates visited Tran Quoc Pagoda in the evening of November 11.
In addition, the US Secretary of State visited the Hoa Lo Prison, commonly known by the Americans as "Hanoi Hilton", detaining US pilots who had been shot down when bombing the Northern Vietnam. It is also where John McCain, now a Republican senator, has been held. The US Secretary of State later visited Truc Bach Lake, where a John McCain pilot jet crash was shot down in October 1967.
