Foreign Ambassadors visit Hanoi's flower field in Me Linh district
Hanoi`s Union of Friendship Organisations and the municipal Department of Tourism in collaboration with Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations and People`s Committee of Me Linh District held a spring tour in Hanoi on March 13.

More than 300 delegates, who are foreign diplomats in Hanoi, their spouses, and representatives from international and non-governmental organisations participated in the tour.
The tour took them to the Hai Ba Trung (Trung Sisters) temple and a flower field in suburban Me Linh district.
The two sisters Trung Trac and Trung Nhi led an uprising against the Han invaders from China in 40 AD. Their victory brought the liberation for Dai Viet (an old name for Vietnam) after 247 years of Chinese domination.
Addressing the event, Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Le Hong Son stressed that this activity has been an annual meaningful tradition, aiming to introduce the country's historical and traditional villages, especially the capital of Hanoi to international friends.
The programme makes a good opportunity to meet, exchange and strengthen the friendship and mutual understanding between the Vietnamese people and international friends, Vice Chairman Son added.
Deputy head of the diplomatic corps in Hanoi Venezuelan Ambassador Jorge Rondon Uzcategui said that the programme provided foreigners living in Vietnam with an insight into the country’s culture and heritage site, thus contributing to tightening mutual understanding, friendship, and cooperation between Vietnam and international friends.
He also appreciated the role of the Unions of Friendship Organisations of Vietnam and Hanoi in recent years that have held many activities for peace and unite operations to promote cooperation between the Vietnamese people with those of countries across the world.
The trip was concluded with an friendship exchange between the international diplomats with the Central and Hanoi's delegates, the performances of songs, dances and special music, and a Vietnamese traditional dress show.
