Foreign reporters covering US – North Korea summit offered free tours around Hanoi
At least 2,600 international reporters from news agencies around the world, including Reuters, NHK (Japan), AP, AFP, and Yonhap (South Korea) have come to Hanoi to cover the second US – North Korea summit on February 27 and 28.
Hanoi is treating international reporters to special programs, while they are covering the second summit between US President Donald Trump and North Korea’s leader Kim Jong Un on February 27 and 28, said Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports To Van Dong.
Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports is offering free tour to Ngoc Son Temple, Temple of Literature, Hoa Lo for all reporters, as well as culinary delicacies, including Bun Cha, Bun Thang, Pho Thin, Xoi che Phu Thuong, Banh Khuc co Lan, Che Sen Ho Tay, Egg Coffee, Cha com Me Tri, Gio cha Uoc le.
Earlier, a caravan was held in Hanoi on February 25 to disseminate the municipal authorities’ call on the locals to demonstrate their civilized manner ahead of the second US – North Korea summit Hanoi Summit Vietnam, thus promoting Hanoi’s image to international friends.
In addition to decorating the streets on the occasion, the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports has stepped up communications work to encourage Hanoians to enhance the city’s image as a safe and friendly locality.
The caravan passed through Hanoi’s famous locations surrounding the Hoan Kiem Lake in the very heart of the city, including Melia Hanoi Hotel, Sofitel Legend Metropole Hotel, the Hanoi Opera House and the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum.
In addition, Vietnam Railway Corporation has offer free ticket program for all international reporters.
