Prime Minister (PM) Nguyen Tan Dung received Cuban Minister of Finance and Prices Lina Pedraza Rodriguez during her working visit to Vietnam in Hanoi on September 18.
PM Dung lauded the sound cooperation outcomes between Vietnam and Cuba in recent years and congratulated the Latin American nation on its enormous and comprehensive accomplishments on the path of national development and protection.
The PM stressed that the Vietnamese Party, State and people will exert all efforts to boost the bilateral cooperation and friendship with Cuba on both scale and depth.
He noted that the the two countries have a lot of advantages to expand their cooperation partnership, especially as Cuba is pushing forward with reform and development model update while successfully breaking the decade-old economic embargo.
For her part, Minister Rodriguez expressed her pleasure to visit Vietnam, especially on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the countries’ diplomatic ties, underlining the incessant growth of their amity, political trust and mutual understanding.
She thanked Vietnamese Government for effective cooperation and support to Cuba’s development.
The minister noted that a five-year cooperation agreement signed between the two finance ministries during this visit will help lift their ties to a higher level, ultimately contributing to the countries’ overarching relations.
