Heavy lift vessel Rolldock Storm carrying the fourth Kilo-submarine named HQ-185 Da Nang entered the Cam Ranh Port in the south-central province of Khanh Hoa on June 30.
HQ-185 Da Nang submarine was built by the Admiralty Verfi Shipyards in Saint Petersburg, Russia. After it was launched on March 28, 2014 it has conducted some pilot journeys at the Baltic Sea and began a voyage to Vietnam on May 14.
HQ-185 Da Nang is the fourth 636 Kilo-class submarine that Russia built for Vietnam under the US$2 billion contract signed in 2009.
Three submarines – HQ-182 Ha Noi, HQ-183 Ho Chi Minh City and HQ-184 Hai Phong had already arrived at Cam Ranh port. All these three submarines are managed by the Vietnam People’s Navy.
