A day before President Truong Tan Sang in his State visit to the Federal Republic of Germany, the first State visit of Socialist Republic of Vietnam`s President to he unified Germany, the Spiegel - a famous newspaper of Germany have published articles about the cadet that was sent to study in East Germany.
According to the report, in 1955, the government of North Vietnam and East Germany agreed to nominate 150 Vietnamese cadets, with the average age from 9-15, to study in the city of Moritzburg, East German.
The article tells the story about two of the cadets, Mr.Le Duc Duong, now 73, and Ms. Vo Cam Trang, 72, they are living in Germany.
According to the article, Mr. Duong was reminiscing journey of the cadet to Moritzburg by train, via Beijing, Moscow, Warsaw to Germany. Despite numerous difficulties, the cadets that Uncle Ho believed quickly joined in and got familiar with the environment in Germany.
According to the article, the Moritzburg cadets studyed very hard, with warm living as a family. Mr. Duong was particularly impressed by the time Uncle Ho visited and pictured with the cadets in 1957 in Moritzburg.
The article tells about the life and experiences of the cadet since being sent to study in Moritzburg until training project ended. Next, Vietnam and East Germany continued to sign labor cooperation agreement, under which tens of thousands of workers from Vietnam who are sent to work in Germany.
The article also said that many of the cadet swas sent to study, when the country had a career, many of whom are professors and have the advice to the Government of Vietnam. We have about 10 students still living in Germany.
The article was concerned that German audience with many commentators praised Vietnamese people hardworking, intelligent, willing to rise and better integration into German society.
