Global giants showcase cutting-edge techs at World Cities Summit 2018

The World Cities Summit is an exclusive platform for government leaders and industry experts to address liveable and sustainable city challenges, share integrated urban solutions and forge new partnerships.

Leading international technology and engineering companies gathered at the World Cities Summit 2018 in Singapore from July 8 to 12 to show off their most advanced technologies and solutions as government officials and policymakers seek to improve urban governance and build liveable and sustainable cities.
The exhibitors displayed products and services that can help solve a wide spectrum of pressing problems that cities are looking for solutions to, from waste treatment, energy management, to transportation and logistics, water treatment, automation, air control, etc.
Present at the exhibition were big names such as Alstom, Bombardier, Toshiba, Mitsubishi Electric, Huawei, Sembcop, among others.
Siemens AG, a Germany-headquarters industrial powerhouse that is present in nearly 200 countries, exhibited its newest solutions for air management, autonomous vehicles, digitalization of water network, operation optimization, data management, and so on.
Over 130 mayors and city leaders from 128 cities gathered at the landmark biennial event this year to share learnings and to address challenges and innovations for future-ready cities. Vietnam's capital city of Hanoi was represented by Vice Mayor Nguyen Van Suu.
Up to 16 memorandums of understanding (MOUs) and agreements were inked, paving the way for collaborations between cities and stakeholders in the public, private and people sectors.
The next World Cities Summit will be held in 2020, from July 5 to 9, in Singapore. The World Cities Summit Mayors Forum 2019 will be held in Medellín, Colombia, on July 10-12.
