Qualified startups can apply for one of three Google cloud support packages worth US$3,000 – 100,000 per year.
Google has announced a support program worth up to US$100,000 to facilitate access to global markets for Vietnamese startups, local media reported.
The announcement was made at the Google Cloud Startups workshop held in Ho Chi Minh City recently.
Qualified startups can apply for one of three Google cloud support packages worth US$3,000 – 100,000 per year. Those include startups with less than five years old and have not received Series B funding, aiming to take their digital products to the international markets.
The support package would include Google G Suit, a cloud computing brand of tools and software that allows startups to test and improve their digital products.
Google Cloud for Startups is among a series of programs supporting Vietnam’s innovative startups community developed by Google, including Launchpad Accelerator or Indie Games Accelerator.
After 6 months of operation, Google has provided Google Cloud support worth over US$1 million for Vietnamese startups, for which the figure is expected to increase sharply in 2019.
In order to help Vietnamese startup community go global, Google Cloud for Startups is a tailor-made program for the development of startups by taking advantage of Google’s technologies and resources including Google Cloud, community events, technical supports, advise and training programs.
Over the past few years, most startups in Vietnam have been facing difficulties in taking their products to new markets, which now could be overcome through the support of Google Cloud.
Vietnam is among six countries in Southeast Asia that Google has offered this support to. The country has had a vibrant startup movement in recent years.
Last year, investment in Vietnamese startups tripled from 2017 to US$889 million, according to startup accelerator program Topica Founder Institute.
