Ha Long bay in Quang Ninh Province has been chosen as one of the six “Most brilliant places for exploration”, according to travel website Youramazingplaces.com.
Ha Long Bay is located in Quang Ninh Province in northeast Vietnam, covering an area of 1,553 sq. km and comprising 1,969 islands. When exploring the bay, you will feel lost in a legendary world of stone islands.
Some of the islands are interestingly named after their shapes, folklores or specialties, such as Rong (Dragon) islet, Kien Vang (Golden Ant) island, Khi (Monkey) island and Bai Tho (Poem) mountain.
On December 17, 1994, the Ha Long Bay was officially listed as a World Heritage site with globally outstanding value in terms of natural landscape by UNESCO. It was also voted as one of the seven new natural wonders of the world.
