Ha Noi – Ha Giang sign tourism development cooperation in 2017-2020

Tourism leaders of Ha Noi and the northern mountainous Ha Giang Province have recently signed a cooperation agreement to boost the tourism development in the two localities in 2017-2020.

Accordingly, the Ha Giang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Ha Noi Centre for Trade, Investment and Tourism Promotion will promote information exchanges and support each other in annual tourism promotion programs.
The two localities will also support each other through publicizing information and images related tourism on the websites of the two sides.
The two sides will strengthen the contact to play the role of intermediary to connect tourism enterprises of each locality, aimed at cooperating in building new tours and routes linking the two localities.

They will also create favorable conditions for investors and tour operators to survey and invest in tourism of the two localities besides improving the effectiveness of promotion programs.
The agreement also mentioned to the cooperation in developing new tourism products and launching promotion programs at the National Tourism Year 2018.
Ha Giang, which aims to become a key tourist attraction by 2020, has majestic mountain landscapes, the UNESCO-recognized Dong Van Karst Plateau Global Geopark and terraced fields in Hoang Su Phi District, as well as 19 ethnic groups living together with attractive festivals, natural and cultural heritages.
The number of tourist arrivals to the province rises nearly 32.5 percent on average each year, and is estimated to reach 1 million with a revenue of VND950 billion this year.
In a recent investment promotion conference, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said that Ha Giang should focus on boosting tourism through diversifying tourism products, developing community-based tourism, restoring and promoting traditional festivals and cultural values.
Meanwhile, Nguyen Van Tuan, Director General of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, urged joint efforts of the provincial authorities and tour operators at home and abroad.
Tran The Dung, Director of a Ho Chi Minh City-based travel agency, said the province should further tap existing adventure tours at Tu San mountain, and tour route of Gam river, Bac Me and Hoang Su Phi terraced field. 
Nguyen Van Son, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, said called on domestic and foreign investors to engage in tourism projects in the province and committed all possible support to them. 
The province now has two outbound travel agencies and five others specialized in domestic tours.
