Hanoi and Vientiane strengthen defense and security cooperation

The Hanoi official affirmed the long-standing friendly relations and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos, and expected more visits of Vientiane police in the time to come.

Hanoi and Vientiane police forces have made significant contributions to the expansion of bilateral collaboration in keeping order and security. 

Vice Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Le Hong Son made the statement during a meeting with Major General Boupha Siphomma, director of Vientiane police in Hanoi on February 19.

Son appreciated the comprehensive cooperation between the two capital cities’ police forces. This is even more significant as the meeting took place at the time Hanoi is preparing for the 20th anniversary of the rocognition as City for Peace, he added.

The vice chairman affirmed the long-standing friendly relations and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos and expected more visits of Vientiane police in the time to come.

For his part, Major General
Boupha Siphomma highly valued the results after the last two working days. This is one of the regular exchange activities over the years, to cultivate the effective and practical relationship between Hanoi - Vientiane police in particular and Vietnam - Laos in general, he added.

Notably, the signing of the cooperation minutes on February 20 between Hanoi and Vientiane police, witnessed by the Vietnamese and Lao Ministers of Public Security, will lay a legal foundation for the two sides to support each other in all fields,
Boupha Siphomma stressed.
