The chairwoman emphasized that this is one of the eight key programs of the municipal Party Committee for the 2016-2020 term, and has played an important role in cultural development and ensuring social security.
Ngoc added that in the time ahead, it is necessary to enhance cultural and artistic activities and the organization of national major events to meet the Vietnamese government’s requirements.
Besides, the Hanoi government needs to keep effectively implementing the city's Code of Conduct, promoting education on building elegant and civilized Hanoians.
Especially, the city's press agencies should proactively take part in mobilizing Hanoi people to actively participate in those campaigns.
In the past five years, the socio-cultural work has been focused, the state management of heritages has been increasingly strengthened. Many cultural works have been preserved and promoted to become famous tourist destinations, attracting a large number of local and international visitors.
Moreover, cultural exchange activities have been intensified. The municipal government has organized a host of annual cultural and art events which contribute to the development of tourism. Those events include, to name a few, the Japanese Cherry Blossom Festival, Hanoi Culinary Culture Festival, Vietnam Airlines Classic Concert - Hanoi Concert.
Especially, the walking space around Hoan Kiem Lake and surrounding areas in downtown Hanoi has become a brand, a cultural venue, and a highlight of the capital city.
Hanoi continues to lead the country in the quality of education as many winners at national and international contests were from Hanoi.
