Hanoi always treasures and wants to intensify its friendship and multifaceted cooperation with the Greek city of Athens, said Ngo Thi Thanh Hang, member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee while leading Hanoi high-ranking delegation on a working visit to Athens on November 16.

On behalf of Hanoi’s delegation, Ngo Thi Thanh Hang expressed admiration for the culture and longstanding history of Greece and Athens.
Hang pointed out the importance and need for further cooperation between the two capitals in the potential fields and advantages to contribute to concertizing the joint program of the two capitals.
Accordingly, Hanoi needs more cooperation in the field of cultural exchange, tourism development, trade, two-way investment to promote the advantages of the two capitals, as well as the two countries.
For her part, Nelly Papachella agreed and expressed her readiness to spur the effective cooperation between the two sides with the Vietnamese Embassy in Greece as the catalyst.
Showing his readiness to make the Embassy a catalyst for Hanoi and Athens cooperation, Ambassador Nguyen Manh Cuong briefed the Hanoi’s delegation about Greece’s socio-economic situation and strengths, the fields in which Hanoi can study and learn experience from the host country.
The Vietnamese Embassy in Greece and Hanoi city agreed to jointly implement some activities in the coming time such as preparing content for working with the Greek business delegation led by a deputy minister of foreign affairs to Vietnam in December 2018, and holding Vietnamese cultural day in Greece.
Also within the framework of the working visit in Greece, Hanoi’s delegation exchanged experiences with UNESCO Foreign Cultural Agency under Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs about managing cultural heritage recognized by UNESCO.
The representative of UNESCO Foreign Cultural Agency informed the delegation the overall situation and experience in managing, exploiting and enhancing the value of cultural heritage recognized by UNESCO.
The delegation emphasized that in the process of international integration, Hanoi city’s leaders hope to learn Greek management experience to improve efficiency and sustainability of heritages.
