About 100 stalls displaying OCOP products from the Central and Central Highlands and other provinces and cities are available at the Trinh Cong Son pedestrians' space, Tay Ho District, Hanoi.

Speaking at the festival's opening ceremony, Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Deputy Director Nguyen Ngoc Son said the event is expected to help OCOP farmers in Hanoi and other parts of the country to exchange on how to improve productivity and product quality, connect commerce and promote brands.

Within this event, authorities of the Lao Cai Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development also organized the Week displaying safe farm produce, food, and OCOP products, opening up opportunities to connect with distributors and consumers in the capital city.

At the festival, local visitors can purchase many products from more than 30 localities nationwide.

It is part of a plan in 2022 that Hanoi will carry out with other localities to promote the OCOP program by holding many festivals in the city.

Nguyen Van Chi, permanent deputy head of the Hanoi New Rural Construction Program Coordination Office, said that so far this year, 488 products from 26 districts and cities have been registered for OCOP product evaluation and classification, including 301 products from the food industry, 20 from the beverage industry, 20 from the herbal industry,  129 in the handicraft industry, 14 in the fabric and garment industry, and four in rural tourism service and sales industries.

Hanoi is currently home to 1,649 OCOP products, accounting for 19% of the total. By 2025, the city targets to complete the assessment and rating for at least 2,000 OCOP products.
