The aim of the festival is to get children engaged and educated, whilst delivering it in an entertaining manner. Workshops will mostly be catered to children aged four to 12 years old, and will include carving, T-shirt printing, kite making, photography, storytelling, painting, magic, tile mosaics, beading, sculpting and more.
There will also be a pre-school area for the younger participants aged three to five, and workshops where the whole family can get involved. Almost all the activities are free and pre-registration is not required.
The whole capital city of Hanoi will be celebrating the entire day, the main stage will feature talented musicians, dancers and entertainers. Street performers will be out and about as well as street vendors selling a wide array of handicrafts, food and drink. As part of festival, themed “Children cultural festival 2017”, the event will be jointly held by the Hoan Kiem District People’s Committee, the National Cultural Traditions Institute, and the Success and Happiness Construction Joint Stock Company at the walking street around the Hoan Kiem Lake. It aims to create an open and healthy playing ground for children in Hanoi.
A 730m-long street with 365 pieces symbolizing 365 happy days of children will open on May 28 on the occasion of the International Children's Day (June 1) and summer 2017. Apart from introducing the longest picture street, the festival also includes a race with the participation of 400 children, “Colorful zoo”, and an art program themed “Our children of today are the future of tomorrow”.
Committee members unveiled the beloved event will include a variety of workshops and activities for children, the highlight of which is a mosaic of 365 paintings and drawings themed around peace, environmental protection, road safety and school behaviour.
