On the afternoon of January 26, the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism signed a memorandum of cooperation to promote tourism between Hanoi and Tokyo (Japan).
The signing of the memorandum will provide an opportunity for Hanoi tourism industry to attract more Japanese tourists selecting Hanoi as a destination.
Accordingly, Hanoi and Tokyo agreed to support in promoting the advertisement of tourism on media of the two cities.
Specifically, from now until the end of February 15, the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has organized to advertise Tokyo’s tourism in the Hoan Kiem Lake, Dinh Tien Hoang and Trang Tien street.
In Japan, from September 22-28, Tokyo’s tourism will promote to introduce the image of Hanoi’s tourism through electronic board at Ropponghi station frequently 3 minutes each time.
1,240 photos informed of Hanoi’s tourism will be advertised on trains at the Asakusa, Mita, Shinjuku, Oedo route from September 29 to October 12.
At the same time, Tokyo will bear all costs of activities to promote the advertising of Hanoi’s tourism in the city, including the costs of printing and installation of broadcast image.
Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism To Van Dong said: Japanese tourists is a potential market of Hanoi’s tourism because Japan annually has had about 20 million people traveled abroad. Particularly, spendings of Japanese tourists are very large, the average number of days stayed high. Japanese tourists are interested in cultural tourism, so it is the advantage of Hanoi’s tourism.
In 2014, the number of Japanese visitors to Hanoi increased to 50% compared to the same period last year. The Japanese market has been given a priority of Hanoi’s tourism in attracting to foreign visitors.
