The Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports yesterday organized a conference, summarizing culture and sports work in 2016 as well as deploying missions in 2017. The event saw the attendance of Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Vuong Duy Bien, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Ngo Van Quy.

In addition, the sector has also checked, reviewed deployment, construction of cultural models in the city in 2016; cooperated with levels, sectors, People’s Committees of districts, towns to well organize festivals; announced the list of relic sites in Ha Noi by December 31, 2016; completed 62 dossiers for ranking sites according to the plan in 2016.
Especially, in 2016, Hanoi has three additional intangible cultural heritages added in the list of national intangible cultural heritages by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Furthermore, the sector has also paid special attention to organizing public sports activities, such as: Phu Dong Sports Festival, Olympic Run Day for Public Health 2016, etc as well as maintaining the leading position in domestic and international competitions.
Speaking at the conference, the Vice Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Ngo Van Quy recorded the achieved results of the cultural and sports sector over the past years as well as highly appreciated important schievements, such as: carrying out cultural institutions, inter-sectorial inspections, relic site management, especially visual communication in great festival of the country and the Capital, etc.
At the conference, the Department of Culture and Sports was honored to receive the first-class Labor Medal of the President. Two outstanding individuals received certificates of merit of the Prime Minister and many other precious rewards of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Hanoi People’s Committee.
In 2017, he asked the sector to continue effectively exploiting cultural institutions, especially focusing on investing, building cultural houses, public revenues for cultural, sport activities in localities to improve the quality of people’s cultural life; review the quality of cultural model construction in association with two codes of conducts in public areas, working places which are going to be issued.
He also emphasized that the sector should better concentrate on 7 out of 15 set missions in 2017, including: setting up two codes of conduct in public areas, administrative agencies, units in the capital city; planning outdoor advertisements in the city by 2020 with a vision to 2030; researching models, experiences to effectively implement the Program 04 of the Hanoi Party Committee and so on.
