Hanoi DocFest opens in Hong Kong

The Hanoi DocFest was kicked off at the HKICC Lee Shau Kee School of Creativity’s Screening Room in HongKong on January 6.

The Hanoi DocFest – Vietnam’s only annual festival dedicated to independent creative documentaries and hybrid films to Hong Kong audience. Special selection includes:

After the film screening, Nguyễn Trinh Thi – DocLab founder and director will have a dialogue with audiences.
Nguyễn Trinh Thi is a Hanoi-based independent filmmaker, video and media artist. Since 2009, she is a founder and director of DocLab – a video art and documentary organization in Hanoi. Her diverse practice has consistently investigated the role of memory in the necessary unveiling of hidden, displaced or misinterpreted histories.
Her work, “Unsubtitled”, was selected to be one of the 15 finalists of the Signature Art Prize 2014. She also won the award of Best Emerging Artist Using Digital/Videoof the 2016 Prudential Eye Awards.
