Hanoi encourages investment in rural power network

The Hanoi People’s Committee has recently issued 4274/UBND-KT, requesting relevant agencies, sectors, People’s Committees of suburban districts and towns to make investment and construction plans for power grid in rural area in the 2017-2020 period.



 
The Municipal People’s Committee received official letter of Department of Industry and Trade on preparing plans on investment and construction of rural power grid. Accordingly, the Department of Industry and Trade received 18 proposals of suburban districts and towns on asking for investment in 359 substations for 2017 (total capacity 135,580kVA), and 676 substations for the 2018-2020 period (total capacity 292,139kVA).


 
In order to realize the regulation of Law on Electricity, guarantee the quality of power supply for new-style suburban communes and intensive agriculture zones, industry and craft village clusters, the Department of Industry and Trade requests Haoi Electricity Corporation to build plans and invest in the substations according to aforementioned list, especially the ones to receive investment in 2017; complete plans, and submit to the Department of Industry and Trade by September 30, so that the latter will sum up information and submit reports on the implementation of the approved rural power grid development plan to the Municipal People’s Committee.

After receiving the document, the Hanoi People’s Committee directs Hanoi Electricity Corporation to mobilize effort, make plan, carry out investment and construction of the substations in order to guarantee power supply for new-style rural communes, intensive production zones, industry and craft village clusters, thus creating momentum for economic development in rural areas. People’s Committees of suburban districts and towns create favorable conditions for the Hanoi Electricity Corporation to fulfill the task.
