Hanoi's traffic police will closely coordinate with functional units to arrange traffic so as to ensure traffic safety during New Year holiday.The police have asked the units to actively implement effective plans to ensure traffic safety and social order on road, rail and waterway.

Currently, the Traffic Police Department has established 24 working groups to strengthen inspection and handle motorbike drivers without wearing helmets.
Senior Lieutenant Colonel Duong Duc Hai, head of the Traffic Police Department, Hanoi Police said that in addition to strengthening the handling of violations, the Police Department requested units to tighten discipline, uphold the sense of working and ensure prevention work.
Colonel Nguyen Van Vien, deputy director of the Hanoi Police Department, asked the Traffic Police Department to coordinate closely with functional units to arrange traffic distribution and regulation plans.
Through traffic controlling and patrolling, the traffic police also actively cooperate with functional units to detect, prevent in time and strictly handle cases of causing public disorder and illegal racing.
Besides, the traffic police struggle effectively with all kinds of crimes and social evils on traffic routes, especially the crime of smuggling which tends to be complicated in the end of the year, handling serious violations of traffic which is the direct cause of congestion.
However, in order to minimize traffic accidents and congestion, especially in holidays, each traffic participant must also raise awareness in the observance of traffic rules.
