Hanoi Giftshow 2025 promotes creativity and sustainable growth in handicraft industry

Through these initiatives, Hanoi aims to preserve and promote its creative spirit, fine craftsmanship and commitment to green, sustainable production in line with global development trends.

THE HANOI TIMES — The 15th Hanoi Giftshow 2025 opened on October 9, featuring more than 450 booths of unique handicrafts that celebrate artisans’ creativity and promote Hanoi’s sustainable craft industry.

This year’s four-day event expects to welcome over 18,000 visitors and traders both onsite and online. It offers businesses and producers a chance to promote products, find partners, expand markets and support post-pandemic recovery.

The fair includes an exhibition of 90 award-winning items from the 2025 Hanoi Handicraft Design Contest, held on August 25–28, to highlight the city’s creativity and craftsmanship in ceramics, lacquerware, embroidery, bamboo, rattan and other traditional crafts.

Through these initiatives, Hanoi aims to preserve and promote its creative spirit, fine craftsmanship and commitment to green, sustainable production in line with global development trends.

Nguyen Anh Duong, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, said that the giftshow provides a platform to showcase the creativity and skill of Hanoi’s artisans, reinforcing the capital’s image as a “City of Peace” and “Creative City.”

Hanoi has more than 1,350 craft villages, with about 176,000 households involved in traditional production, making up 45% of all craft villages in Vietnam.

The city’s handicraft products are diverse in design and quality, with strong exports to markets such as the US, EU, Japan, Russia, the Middle East and other parts of Asia.

The Hanoi Giftshow serves as a trade bridge for contract signing and export promotion while displaying handmade products that reflect the talent and artistic flair of Vietnamese artisans.

The event also demonstrates Hanoi’s commitment to supporting local producers and building a sustainable, innovation-driven business environment.

Over the past 14 years, the Hanoi Giftshow has built a strong reputation as a leading export-oriented handicraft fair in the Asia-Pacific region. It has hosted nearly 5,500 booths from 2,200 enterprises across more than 30 countries.

The event has attracted over 150,000 visitors, including 13,500 international buyers, resulting in thousands of contracts and Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) that contribute to the industry’s annual export growth of 6%–8%.
