Hanoi has abundant resources to develop tourism: Japanese official
Chairman of the Council for Promoting Tourism in Asia (CPTA) Yuji Fujita highlights the potential of Hanoi`s tourism.
The elements of tradition, history, cultural values and people's daily life are valuable resources to help Hanoi promote and develop tourism at present and in the future, Chairman of CPTA, Director General of Bureau of Industrial and Labor Affairs, Tokyo Metropolitan Government, Yuji Fujita told Hanoitimes in an interview.
As the chairman of the Council for Tourism Promotion in Asia, how do you asssess the development of tourism in Hanoi in recent years?
Hanoi is one of the localities having rich historical traditions as well as great cultural values in Vietnam. It's noteworthy that owning and preserving many traditional works and historical values is one of the factors that can help Hanoi attract more and more tourists from different countries.
In addition to the long history of cultural values, the experience of people's daily life is gradually becoming a highlight of international tourists, including Japanese tourists. With the excitement and dynamism of young people is a factor that stimulates Japanese tourists' curiosity. Traditional elements, history, cultural values and people's lives are the available resources to help Hanoi develop tourism.
What activities will the CPTA conference in Hanoi focus on?
CPTA was established in 2001 with the aim of giving cities the opportunity to cooperate in the development of tourism-related activities. Currently, CPTA has 10 official member cities. In recent years, the CPTA has emphasized the need to enhance the image as well as attract tourists to Asian cities.
The highlight of this CPTA conference is the fact that member cities focus on discussing policies, launching concrete activities effectively to attract more tourists. Besides, CPTA will continue to organize photo contests on tourism of Asian cities. At the same time, it provides an opportunity to represent 10 member cities, thereby promoting closer and more effective cooperation in promoting Asian tourism to the world.
Could you please provide more information regarding the promotion of tourism cooperation between member cities, specifically Hanoi?
In the area of cooperation among member cities, CPTA has gradually increased specific contents such as the organization of specialized contests on landscapes, tourism and history, thus promoting information on and the image of each city.
For the cooperation with Hanoi, CPTA and Tokyo City in particular has advanced cooperation between the two cities. Hanoi and Tokyo have cooperated in providing images and clips about tourism in the center of the two cities. Within the framework of this CPTA, Tokyo will also promote exchanges and cooperation with businesses in Hanoi to carry out many activities related to tourism in the coming time.
