Hanoi holds diverse activities to celebrate Liberation Day
The activities aim at enhancing the knowledge among locals and tourists of one of the most significant victories in Vietnam as well as further inspiring patriotism among the young generation.
A range of cultural and art activities are taking place in Hanoi to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the Capital’s Liberation Day (October 10, 1954).
Particularly, the Hanoi Old Quarter Management Board has jointly worked with the Past and Present Magazine and A Designer Hanoi Institute to organize a program titled “The Memories of Hanoi – 65 years” at the Phung Hung mural street and exhibitions at some heritage sites in the Old Quarter.
From October 4 to 10, the reenactment of Hanoi life in 1954, “Hanoi in those days” music performances, “Colors of Hanoi’s autumn” fashion show among others will take place at Phung Hung mural street.
These activities aim at enhancing the knowledge among locals and tourists of one of the most significant victories in Vietnam as well as further inspiring patriotism among the young generation.
Between October 4 and 15, the painting exhibition titled “Hanoi Autumn” is held at the Hanoi Old Quarter Culture Exchange Center.
During these days, a photo exhibition named “Nostalgia” by photographer Le Bich is held at Kim Ngan communal house, Hoan Kiem district. The exhibition features nearly 40 images showing Hanoi’s beauty, quintessence, and portraits.
* On the occasion of the Liberation Day celebration, bilingual art book in English and Vietnamese titled “Hanoi’s Old Quarter – Sketches and Memories” made its debut.
The art book is the fruit of creation of nearly 60 authors, writers, architects, professional and amateur artists from Urban Sketchers Hanoi which consists of over 200 sketches in various materials as well as emotional articles on Hanoi’s Old Quarter and its culture, history, and urbanization beauties.
* From October 4 to 6, a film photography exhibition named “Hanoi 36 frames” is held by Ha Noi Moi Newspaper and “Pho Hang Film”. The exhibition displayed 62 photos taken by film cameras showing familiar streets, faces and daily activities in Hanoi.
“Hanoi 36 frames” showcases a leisurely Hanoi in the midst of the bustle and hustle of the city. Hanoi with the old and traditional characters were also captured and shown in the works of the photographers.
