Hanoi hosts tourism exhibition of CPTA member cities

Hanoi tourism should focus on enhancing the propaganda and promotion of the beauty, history and traditional culture of the capital to international friends.

The information was announced by Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Ngo Van Quy on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the 16th Tourism Promotion Council of Asia (CPTA) member cities exhibition with the theme “Hanoi: Connection - Cooperation – Development” on September 8.

According to Quy, within the framework of the 16th meeting of CPTA, representatives from the 10 official member cities exchange ideas on how to promote the connection and support for joint development of tourism in Asia.
“Hanoi tourism should focus on enhancing the propaganda and promotion of the beauty, history and traditional culture of the capital to international friends. In addition, Hanoi tourism needs to improve the quality of destination services, ensure the friendliness and hospitality, attract more foreign visitors to Hanoi,” said Hanoi's official.
The exhibition is one of the important activities of the 16th CPTA meeting. With the theme “Hanoi: Connection - Cooperation – Development”, the event attracted the participation of tourism enterprises of CPTA member cities.
Stalls run by Tokyo, Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Manila, Jakarta, and Hanoi, feature images of their local charm and cultural activities. Air tickets with attracting prices to these locations are also on offer.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the exhibition, Chairman of CPTA, Director General of Bureau of Industrial and Labor Affairs, Tokyo Metropolitan Government, Yuji Fujita said the CPTA was launched in 2001 with the aim of Asian cities cooperation Together, they will engage in activities to attract tourists from countries in the Americas and Europe to promote exchanges in Asia.
Once a year, 10 member cities join the conference to come up with ideas and conduct tourism promotion activities together. “In 2017, CPTA launched a competition to look for beautiful photos. As a result, there are many people who attend this event, there by contributing to the promotion of tourism attraction of each city,” said the chairman of CPTA.
Director of the Hanoi Tourism Department Tran Duc Hai said the exhibition fosters connectivity and experience exchanges for the development of sustainable tourism.
