As reported by Hanoi Statistical Office, Hanoi`s December industrial production index increases 5.5% compared to the previous month and up nearly 10% year-on-year.
In 2016, electrical and gas production and distribution grew 7.6 percent, the processing and manufacturing industry posted a yearly rise of 7.5 percent while water supply and waste and sewage management and treatment increased by 1.3 percent.
The index of industrial production of Hanoi, however, declined for several products, such as beverage (2 percent), wood and wood-based products (46.5 percent), chemicals (7.6 percent), fabricated metal products (8.8 percent), etc.
In December, some goods saw the high growth rate compare to the previous month and the same period last year, such as: confectionery (up 7.3 percent and 3.1 percent), knitted and crocheted adult shirts (up 31.7 percent and 14 percent), paperboard used for writing and printing (up 33, 5 percent and 5.5 percent), pharmaceutical compositions containing hormones (increase of 23.6 percent and 19.5 percent).
In 2016, some products saw strong surges over same period last year, including: knitted fabrics (up 15.4 percent), knitted and crocheted adult shirts (up 28.1 percent), wooden doors (up 13.1 percent), paperboard used for writing and printing (up 61,5 percent), household refrigerators (up 30.8 percent), motorcycles (10.2 percent), wood beds (up 23.6 percent), wood tables (up 76.1 percent).
Hanoi's industrial production gained strong growth in 2016, thanks to direct the attention of the authorities and the state authorities for support solutions, solving problems, creating the first environmental investment changes and effectively promoting consumption of Vietnam.
