Hanoi international painting contest marks 1010th anniversary of Thang Long - Hanoi
The international children painting contest entitled "I love Hanoi - City for Peace" was held on October 10, 2020 at the Ly Thai To Garden in Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi.
The contest was among a variety of cultural activities to mark the 1010th anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi, the 66th anniversary of the city’s Liberation Day (October 10), and the 17th Congress of the Party Committee of Hanoi, term of 2020-2025.

Being organized by the Union of Friendship Organizations of Hanoi in collaboration with the Municipal Department of Culture and Sports and the Hanoi Cultural Centre, the contest drew over 300 children from the capital and several countries such as the Republic of Korea, France, Russia, Belgium, the Philippines, Thailand and Venezuela to participated in.
According to Ms. Tran Thi Phuong, Vice Chairwoman of Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations, the contest is an opportunity to encourage children's artistic creativity, and at the same time is a good opportunity for Vietnamese and international children to meet, exchange, and strengthen the friendship and solidarity among Vietnamese and international children.

The contestants focused on topics that these children are interested in such as people and life, peace, their loves for the country and for Hanoi, beautiful nature, the fight against poverty, and environment protection, among many themes.
A special prize went to Le Tran Thanh Van, while two first prizes were carried off by Nguyen Ha Phuong and Henning Jolene Mai (Belgian nationality). The organizing board also presented three second, five third and 10 consolidation prizes to other little contestants.
