The fair, which runs until October 21, attracted over 200 booths from key industrial enterprises, foreign-invested enterprises in Hanoi, and provinces and cities across the country.

Participating companies showcased high value-added industrial products using modern, environment-friendly technology, with strengths in exports, in sectors such as electronics, automobile assembly, machinery, textiles, footwear, high technology, and processing industries.

Tran Thi Phuong Lan, Acting Director of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, said the fair provides an opportunity for businesses to enhance commercial promotion, seek partners, and establish networks to develop domestic and export markets.

"It also facilitates links with other enterprises in the supply chain to meet the demand of large manufacturers and make complete products," she pointed out.

According to Lan, companies at the fair can share experiences, transfer technology and increase labor productivity to conserve natural resources and enhance competitiveness.

The fair will hold seminars on digital transformation solutions, smart factory construction, investment promotion to improve the capacity of key enterprises, and connecting manufacturing enterprises with industrial cluster investors.

Hanoi has 196 products from 132 enterprises classified as key industrial commodities in various sectors, including machinery, electronics, information technology, textiles, footwear, agro-processing and food, chemicals, rubber, plastics, pharmaceuticals, construction materials, and handicrafts.

Under its 2021-2025 plan, Hanoi aims to increase the value of supporting industries to 30% of the total value of industrial production by 2025, up from 5% at present, and to increase the value of key industrial products to 40-45% of total industrial production.

The city also hopes to have 10% of its companies remain in Vietnam's top 500.
