In order to carry out action month on occupational safety and health in 2018, Hanoi established an organizing committee. Besides, the city’s authority asked relevant departments, people's committees of districts and towns to strengthen measures, improve efficiency in minimizing labor accidents, fires and explosions in the city.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Ngo Van Quy emphasized that ensuring a healthy working environment is one of the important requirements in production and business activities, contributing to ensuring labor safety, reducing and preventing labor accidents and occupational diseases.

The vice chairman required relevant agencies and enterprises of all economic sectors in Hanoi to focus on promoting labor safety and health in the period of industrialization and modernization and international integration.

The tasks include strengthening communication about the purposes and meanings of the action month on occupational safety and health; integrating specialized programs and events to involve enterprises, production and business establishments and laborers to enhance the occupational safety and health; strengthening state management and inspection on occupational safety and health, especially in high-risk industries and fields, in small and medium enterprises as well as handicraft villages; and strictly punishing enterprises and individuals failing to ensure work safety.
