Vietnam-Poland investment ties strengthened by EVIPA ratification
Poland has started ratification of the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA), promising to strengthen investment ties between Vietnam and Poland. Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien highlighted Poland as Vietnam's 8th largest EU trading partner and 9th largest investor at the Vietnam-Poland Business Forum in Warsaw on January 17. With 33 Polish projects in Vietnam worth US$500 million, EVIPA is expected to facilitate greater cooperation in high-tech industries, green energy, and logistics.

Vietnam-China to strengthen comprehensive cooperation in 75th year of diplomacy
Vietnam and China will comprehensively implement high-level agreements to enhance cooperation across sectors, marking 75 years of diplomatic ties. Notable initiatives include strengthening trade, with bilateral trade reaching $185.6 billion in 2024, and launching the Vietnam-China Year of People-to-People Exchange in 2025. The two countries aim to deepen cooperation in high-tech, green energy, and infrastructure while managing maritime issues in accordance with international law.
Vietnam’s import-export value reaches $786.29 billion in 2024
Vietnam’s total import-export value in 2024 reached $786.29 billion, a 15.4% increase on year. In the second half of December 2024, exports rose 31% to $20.12 billion, led by electronics, contributing 31.4%. Imports totaled $18.88 billion, with computers and phones making up $5.17 billion. The annual trade surplus was $24.77 billion, down 12.7% from 2023.
Vietnam pursues green energy goals
Vietnam at WEF Davos 2025 will present key strategic objectives, including promoting public-private partnerships in green energy, technology, and sustainable development. The event also promotes Vietnam as a premier investment and tourism destination, strengthens global cooperation, and demonstrates Vietnam's commitment to net-zero emissions by 2050, while showcasing its role as a reliable and responsible international partner.
Pediatric patients enjoy Tet joy through "Spring of Love 2025" program
The "Spring of Love 2025" program at the Vietnam National Children's Hospital brought early Tet joy to thousands of pediatric patients and their families on January 18. More than 2,000 children received essential gifts from "zero cost stalls" and enjoyed performances and activities. The initiative aims to provide comfort, encouragement, and festive cheer to children battling serious illnesses.

Hanoi combines Tet culture and knowledge at Spring Book Fair 2025
The Spring Book Fair 2025 opened in Hanoi on January 18, showcasing over 3,000 titles in various genres, including literature, history, and science. Combining traditional Tet culture with the promotion of knowledge, the event celebrates the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam. Featuring books, handicrafts, Tet cuisine, and folk games, the fair will run until February 12 at 24 Quang Trung Street.
Ninh Binh sees rising international arrivals and strengthens tourism ties with India
The northern province of Ninh Binh welcomed more than 1.5 million international visitors in 2024, including a 12% increase in Indian tourists compared to 2023. Hosting group tours from Indian companies, such as Sun Pharmaceuticals with 4,500 employees, highlighted Ninh Binh's appeal. Efforts to promote its unique natural and cultural heritage have enhanced Ninh Binh's global reputation.
Binh Duong earmarks $11.2 million to support workers during Tet 2025
Binh Duong has allocated VND270 billion ($11.2 million) to support workers during Tet 2025. Hundreds of workers received gifts, travel tickets, and participated in festive activities at the "Tet Sum Vay" (Tet of Reunion) event on January 17. Provincial leaders emphasized treating migrant workers as part of the community, ensuring a happy Tet for all, and strengthening ties with local workers.
