According to the People’s Committee of Hoan Kiem District, Mid-Autumn Festival 2016 will take place from September 2 -15 (on the 2nd to 15th day of the 8th lunar month) in Old Quarter to serve people, especially children.

The opening ceremony of this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival will occur on September 2. There will be various cultural activities on the occasion, such as organizing folk arts and culture performances, music performance of children, presenting scholarships to outstanding pupils who overcome daily hardship, instructing children how to make folk toys, green rice flakes and moon cakes; lantern procession, lion dance, folk games, etc.

This is an annual event of Hanoi Old Quarters Management Board to create venues for people in general and children in particular to learn about traditional cultural values and raise their awareness of preserving national culture, protecting and promoting the value of cultural heritages.
