The 15th International Agriculture Trade Fair (AgroViet 2015) opened at the Exhibition Center, 489 Hoang Quoc Viet street, Hanoi on November 6.
The AgroViet 2015, themed “Enhancing the effectiveness of food processing and preservation”, features high quality agro-forestry-fishery and handicraft products at 400 foreign and domestic booths.
The event makes an opportunity for businesses to promote their products and honour Vietnam’s high-quality farming, forestry, seafood and handicraft products.
Participating visitors would see Vietnam’s agricultural sector as a modern, well-developed key economic sector. Advanced techniques and technology in agricultural production will also be introduced during this year's event.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Tran Thanh Nam said that agricultural production has been hampered by natural calamities, diseases and market fluctuations.
Agricultural trade promotion activities have crucial roles in expanding consumption markets and levering up the development of agro-forestry-fishery production, he stressed.
A workshop on the use of fertilisers and chemicals in agricultural production and a seminar on value chains in agricultural produce would also be held during the event.
The AgroViet 2015 takes place until November 9.
