Hanoi pilots European-standard buses to serve the disable

The Hanoi Transport Corporation (Transerco) put into operation 15 European-standard buses on November 7 to serve the disable.

The buses are being operated on route No.3 from Giap Bat station to Gia Lam station and have Mercedes engines which are up to European standards on exhaust fumes.

The ceremony saw the attendance of Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen The Hung; Belarus's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Mr. Vladimir Goshin and Representatives of Hanoi's departments and sectors.

Transerco Director General Nguyen Hoang Trung said the vehicles feature a driver cabin, free wifi, and a modern GPS system. With the buses’ arrival, the route is the first in the capital city to operate low-floor buses.

These buses are designed and manufactured in Europe with many advantages such as: independent cab system for driving; Led electronic information board; Free Wifi; modern GPS management software; Audio system with automatic GPS connection.

In particular, 15 new buses on Line 03 are the first to have low-floor buses replacing low-and-high floor buses that have been used so far.

With a design that can be lifted, lowered, with sliding wheels, a fixed belt for wheelchairs, a new bus frame will open up a very convenient approach for the disable.

The same day, the Transerco replaced all buses on its route No 25 that runs from Giap Bat station to the second National Hospital of Tropical Disease in Dong Anh District. The route now uses new buses manufactured by Daewoo Vietnam.
